Recycled Garden Tools

I found these two creatures at an estate sale over the weekend. The guy running the sale told me that his dad made them out of garden tools about 40 years ago. They are quirky and charming and are already at home in our backyard. They have faces only a junk mother could love.

Oh! I almost forgot...$5 for the pair!

Too cool for words, and what a great bargain! Love em both...wish I could introduce them to my horseshoe & trailer hitch octopus...made by a departed neighbor years ago...he called them "Scritters"...scrap...critters. Good find *elaine*

You mean only a beak a mother could love! You had me when you said his dad made them...I love folk art, but $5? That sealed the deal!

I always wanted to make stuff like this with all the old reject garden tools I see. But I should have learned to weld instead of spending all my time playing Barbie with the girls in the neighborhood. Ha...! But at least I can pair accessories like nobody's business.

These are so cute they put a smile on my face :+) Lucky find there for only $5..!?!?? You've got to check out the world's longest yard sale, which is coming up soon. It really does exist! I did a post about it yesterday. Come on over and see it! 8+)

What great finds! I love the history to them, and they're so whimsical aren't they? I wonder why the gent was getting rid of them?

I've seen the newer versions of that type of thing....They are really cute. Fun find!

Did you happen to go to the Cracked Pots Show in Troutdale last week? Lots of cool recycled art.

Pam,

I love your little garden guys!! Great price and great rust! :)

I have a couple pieces similar to yours that my friend's brother makes. He lives in Salem, Oregon -and does some beautiful yard art!

Take care, Kathy
