Those Frenchies Aren't Going to Know What Hit 'Em

In just about 36 hours, I'll be winging my way to Paris. I'm a very lucky gal, and I know it. Not sure how much I'll be posting while I'm gone, but I'll be coming back with lots of photos and many stories. How do I know this? Because I will be staying with my friend Julia for much of the time, and here is the message she posted on my facebook page earlier today:

"Get some sleep on the plane. You're going to hit the ground running. First: A refresher course on opening champagne with a sabre. Second and third: The plant and flower show at the chateau Courson PLUS a three-day junk sale along the Seine in the next town over!"

Au revoir, One Gal's Trashy Pals!

A Ginormous Gift From a Friend

Remember this post? When I talked about getting my grubby hands on a vintage classroom map? Well my old chum Julia read that post, and took it upon herself to find one for me! What did I do to deserve such a friend?

It's spectacular!
Warning: the following photos go beyond simple show-and-tell and cross the line into boasting.

I'm planning a trip to France to visit Julia in May. When the 2 of us are together, junking and cackling, those Frenchies aren't going to know what hit 'em!

It's National Show The World Your Junk Day!

A couple of you have responded to my previous post with a fabulous idea...
I hereby challenge you to show us your junk...garage, storage room, studio, mother-in-law's suite....I don't care where you keep it, I just want to see it! And let's be honest, so does everyone else. My pal Joan from Anything Goes Here did it. So grab your digitals girls, and show us your stuff. C'mon, it's cathartic and so much cheaper than a shrink.

Junk Garden in Manzanita Oregon

Remember Cart'M on the Oregon Coast? I decided that their demonstration garden deserved it's own post. The staff cultivates this delapidated delight next to the dump/recycling center/thrift store. The garden is created using throw-aways; PVC pipe, a bathtub, rusted old modes of transportation and even a gigantic satellite dish. Have a little meander.....

And remember...please stay on the path!

Look what I got!

Lulu and Lauri at 2chippys had a meme giveaway last week and yours truly got in right under the wire. Today, there was a package on the porch. (For me???) I ripped it open...

and found a junk necklace made by Lauri, wrapped in a sweet stripey box and a handwritten note. Those chippy gals have style and class!
Thank you so much!

My favorite charm is the old watch face.
