I was at the dermatologist this morning when a Newsweek magazine caught my eye. I opened it to a story about how kids in military families are getting a lousy education, due to lack of funding. The story was quite serious and gave examples of crumbling school buildings, lack of classroom computers and empty library shelves. I tried to give it the proper attention it deserved....but all I could think about was how to get my grubby hands on this classroom map.
Does that make me a bad person?
BTW, I stole this page right out of the magazine so I could tell you the story, but please don't be too mad at me. The issue was from last July.

It's from last July?! That's almost as bad as doctor's offices that only have RV or hunting magazines.
I have a STACK of magazines from recent history I'd like to donate...although there's probably some pages missing from those as well.
This cracked me up....yep I see a story but all I want to know is where they got that wonderful old stuff. The map is pretty cool. The kids not getting a good education, not so much. hugs, Linda
How could you be a bad person for recognizing that those kids are using vintage materials? I do feel for them and I understand your desire for the map......
Merry Christmas, Pam,

I'd love to have a big roll down map too. They have to exist who the general public some where!
I get distracted driving/walking around my neighborhood and wanting to steal outdoor furniture.
So did you quietly tear it out or just let it rip????
I found a 48 state North America classroom map in someone's garbage last year. Just happened to be driving by, and what did I spy? One end has separated from its wooden pole/rod hanger thingy, and I'll get around to fixing it at some point. Trying to decide whether to keep...sell...keep, THEN sell...who knows. I lurve it.
I would have stolen ...er, removed that map too, I am The Map Woman. Good job! When you're done with it, ship it to me :)
Mary
If you had a map like that, what would you do with it?
