A festive and junky giveaway

Hey! I got so caught up in the whole plant stealing caper (more on that later) and Peter Jennings that I didn't twig that I have reached a milestone....my 200th post! Here is a pile of One Gal's Trash for a celebratory giveaway.

Here's what I'm throwing in: ~ all vintage ~ chicken recipe cards, a tiny Irmi style 'Mary had a little lamb' plaque, 2 rolls of ribbon, a deck of flowery playing cards, hot pink enamel brooch, 8 wooden dice with letters, 6 jello molds, a fruitti tutti hair clip (made with vintage button and trim by yours truly), and a copy of The Ford Treasury of Favorite Recipes from Famous Eating Places.

Please leave a comment. I would love to know your favorite motto or mantra. My current favorites are: "Toning it down is totally overrated." & (referring to myself of course)...."She was sometimes a headache, but never a bore." On Wednesday, I'll do the whole names in a hat thing. Don't even ask me about that Random.com device. I would rather set my hair on fire than try to figure out how to set that thing up.

By the way, blogging is the most fabulous time suck in the whole world. Thanks to all of you for coming along for the ride!

Hooray for your 200th post! I love when my google reader shows a new post from you! I love Jenny Heid's cupcake prints and have adopted the "Keep Calm and Have a Cupcake" as my motto. Everything seems better with a cupcake (or two).

Growing up in the south, my Mom always had a lot of mottos. I'm hard pressed to pick a favorite one.

Have a great day.

We try to live by "Buy used and save the difference."

But, sometimes we blow some money on something because, "You only live once."

And then there's the Brach's candy jingle from the 1980's - "Candy is delcious food, enjoy some every day."

Actually...I think I have It...have an old trivet in my kitchen that my Mom had in her kitchen and it says "Ve get too soon oldt, undt too late schmart"..German? Dutch?? Don't know, but with another milestone birthday fast approaching, this seems to fit. Have a great Sunday. *elaine*

Courtesy of my mom when we'd do something she thought was nice: "You'll be rewarded in heaven." Since she's there already, hopefully she's keeping all my rewards safe until I join her (I hope!). The phrase isn't really a motto, but it has always inspired me to TRY to treat others kindly and with compassion. Big time points behind those pearly gates!
