More Recipe Book Joy

Girls! I knew you would love the Fireside Cook Book! I'm posting more photos of the illustrations; there are so many delightful ones for you to see....

Can't you just smell the hay and the cotton candy?

I would so wear her outfit if it was real.

Magnifique!

"You know what too many Cooks do".

"There are as many good fish in the Sea as Ever came out of it". I have no idea what this means, but I love the image; and the fisherman caught Picasso's fish!

The splendid illustrations are by Alice and Martin Provensen.
P.S. Fun fact of the day: Martin was the creator of the original Tony the Tiger in 1952.

Geez - if only actual cooking was as fun as this cookbook! :-)

Oh, I just LOVE illustrations like this--they just scream vintage, don't they?! Nowadays, what with overfishing, there probably aren't as many fish in the sea as ever came out of it, unfortunately. Great book, and thanks for sharing!

What fantastic colours in the book.
And I've never seen the original Tony the Tiger before - so much better than the current one!
