A new business, a great day and a special guest.

As some of you know, I recently partnered up with my friend Maria of collage to launch a business called Plucky Maidens. Our mission is to host 3 Junk Fest! sales a year, in and around Portland. The Fests! will have the finest vendors selling the most fabulous vintage and antique wares. August 18th was our inaugural Fest! held outdoors at McMenamins Edgefield. I am proud to tell you that it was an amazing success! We had 50 vendors selling great junk to large crowds of very happy customers.

And as a special bonus, look who showed up to shop...Emily Henderson, HGTV's Design Star 2010 and host of Secrets from a Stylist! Emily was gracious and adorable and even bought stuff! Here's a shot of Maria and Emily and me....

Yippee! What a great idea and I'm so happy to see it's gonna be a huge success. One of these days I really am gonna make it to the PNW.

This is very exciting, and I've only heard good things (from our mutual Portland-area blogging friends!) about the show. Good luck, Pam!

Thank you for bringing this kind of event back to the Portland area! It was so much fun. I brought my sis who was visiting from Wisc and she loved it. She doesn't collect, but she did go home with a few treasures. Looking forward to future sales. Congrats on the success of it.

Congrats on the successful show. Any tips on getting started organizing an event like this? Maryland could use one of these!!
