...You never know what you're gonna get!
I was skulking around an estate sale today when I spied this metal chest with little drawers full of colors and textures.
Things got even better when I saw this on the top....the two most beautiful words in the English language:
So I did...I offered $5 to the gal in charge. She said "Sure!" Her family was clearing out Grandma's house and she was practically giving stuff away. I made myself wait until I got home to see what was inside my little treasure chest. Some of it was fab! Like...
Old spun cotton mushrooms, angel matches and a deer's head,
Tiny vintage pastel bells, a miniature Frenchy shoe,
hat pins and vintage Dennison labels. There was also some stuff I wasn't so thrilled about. Like:
An old pacifier and nail clippers,
and packages of golfing tees from Reno. Wait...is that a metal thimble? Oooooo...I'll throw that in my sewing box!

What a wonderful find. I'm so glad that lady's crafty items went to you who appreciate them!
There is something that people made with golf tees a while back but I can't remember what.

The only thing I like better is FREE! But that was a great bunch of treasures for 5 bucks.
What a fun find! Surprises in every drawer!
Man, I knew I should have gone out today. The one who braves the freezing cold weather gets the prize. Nice score!!
What a fun find, sometimes I just can't wait until i get home I have to pull over and go though the box or bag. Well, I would say you more than got thru your money's worth, plus it was fun!

Yes, but next to the pacifier and the nail clippers is a Gingher thread clipper!
Those lil' shroomies are too cute!
Stuff like this is my absolute favorite. The mysteries abound. Love it.
Love those little drawers.
Good job.
I got one once at Goodwill filled with buttons. Some old some not so old and three cards of Japanese closionne (sp?) buttons.
I love all of the little treasures.
Ahh! That would be so much fun to go through.
