Could you re-phrase that please?

I found this little Cupid at a recent sale. He was on the $1 table. I couldn't quite believe that he hadn't been snatched up. He obviously was waiting for me. He is perfect for Valentine's Day, don'tcha think?

Here's the part I don't really understand. The quote on the horseshoe says "De las flores la frescura sobrepuja tu hermosura" which translates from the Spanish as "The freshness of flowers surpasses your beauty". Shouldn't it be "Your beauty surpasses the freshness of flowers"? Maybe that's why he was on the $1 table.

~~~~~Skeleton Key Givaway~~~~~
One month from today is my 50th birthday. On the big day, I will choose 4 members of One Gal's Trashy Pals to receive a vintage skeleton key. My goal is to reach 500 followers in time for my birthday, so don't waste another moment! Join up over there on the sidebar. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Because who doesn't love getting a present on someone else's birthday?
The Epitome of all things Valentine, congratulations, and know I think the saying is right on....after all you have to say it with flowers ;)
maybe it is implied that your beauty is only surpassed by the freshness of the flowers??
Hey gal! That's one weird Valentine. I found you this morning commenting at dear Linda (soon to be gone) Crispell's. I am now a proud member of your army of followers and plan to put you on my blog list to help you meet your 500 mark. Good luck!
Oh but nevertheless your cupid is so sweet you have to forgive the sentiment!!!
I would love to receive one of your keys, I've been following a while and love your "stuff".
That cupid is so sweet, but I can't believe you found it in one piece. You would think that the previous owner would have thrown it at whoever(probably husband) gave it to them!
So cute! Just show it to someone like me who barely understands a word of Spanish!
That's pretty funny, but he's still darling. The keys are lovely. What a great idea putting them on colourful string like that!
I'm surprised that figurine has remained intact. If someone had given it to me I'd have hit them over the head with it! Da noive!!
Mayhaps whoever did the verse for the cute cupid was being funny , strange as it may be. Or they were a bad translator of English to Spanish? I just adore the keys - they are so Alice-in-Wonderland-esque!
