Where I was a quarter century ago...

My friend Janet sent me this picture that was taken in 1986, which is (gulp!) 24 years ago. I had just moved to New York City and was sharing Janet's apartment in Chelsea. I had cheekbones then and red hair (without the help of Clairol) and was so happy to be starting a new adventure. The sweetie on my lap was Bowie the Pug, Janet's dog. I knew Bowie really loved me when she would sneeze right in my face! Janet called it a "Pug Spray".

It would be an understatement to say there were lots of characters in our neighborhood. One time, while strolling to the diner for waffles, a guy walking towards us jumped aside on the sidewalk and shouted, "OUTTA THE WAY...HERE COMES CAGNEY AND LACEY!"

I really miss New York.

Gosh, 24 years ago?? Oh wait, I wasn't even born then! HA HA HA! I too had cheekbones in 1986, having lost a bunch of weight. Then I met my hubs to be and the cheekbones slowly melted away . . . Great memories, huh?

You're a very pretty lady..and it would have been funny if you had told that guy, yes we are and you're under arrest. :). Sometimes just everyday living is funny. I so enjoy following along on your blog..ther's always something new..

What a sweet picture! I have to have help with the color of my hair too:) Age does that to us! I love New York. I have only been there twice but is certainly one of those things on my bucket list... to go back! Have a blessed day!

Oh, I wish I could go back to that age again. It never ocurred to me that I could go to NYC for school or work. I wish I had. I have visited and absolutely loved it. I could spend hours people watching. And how wonderful life would be if I had the waist line I had 24 years ago when I thought I was fat! If only I knew what my future held!

When you say it like that, it makes it sound like it was ancient! BUT if you say it real fast...why it was just yesterday. Fun post...btw who was who?
