There is nothing like starting the week with Vintage Christmas Monday hosted by our pal Joan. You will be in awe of the wonderful array of treasures showcased by the party bloggers.
Here are some of my holiday goodies, along with a story from my childhood.....
Every Christmas Eve, when I was a toddler, we'd all pile in the staton wagon, and my dad would drive us around the neighborhood so we could see the holiday decorations. This was back in the days when everybody had lights and Santas and angels and menorahs and camels plastered all over their houses and yards. My mom tells me I used to sit in the back seat, in my footed jammies, and say over and over..."Lights, Mama, Lights!" I still adore Christmas lights of all kinds.
This 99 cent beauty was rescued from the Teen Challenge thrift store, Portland, Oregon.
These snowball lights go on our tree every year. I once found 2 huge bags of them at a thrift. I almost had to call 911 on myself.
This candelabra has a little Eiffel Tower thing going on. I told my husband that if he plays his cards right, I'll wear it as a hat to his company Christmas party.

Oh I love the lights! When my children were young we went to Grandma's house on Christmas Eve and on the way home we would drive around and look at lights. The kids would look for Santa in the sky. What fun and I love outdoor lights! You got some great treasures!
Oh I think you should wear it! Love the snow ball lights. I know the feeling of call 911 when you hit it big. This is so much fun.

I had the opportunity to adopt one of those eiffel tower light things at an estate sale this summer, but I left it for some other vintage christmas junkie.

We always rode around when my daughter (36 years old today) was little. She just recently mentioned that was one of her favorite memories. Not that many people dress their houses up anymore. One house that used to do it stopped because people were stealing their decorations. Pooh, mean people! Oh well, my favorite in this post is the 99cent beauty! Have a blessed day!

No one person should have that many awesome lights! I love that candle one especially. Now you know that once you put something in writing, it must be carried out. So we all expect to see a picture of you wearing that Eiffel Tower light hat. Plugged in!

I just found your blog and became a follower. I love all things vintage. When we were kids we had one special family we spent Christmas Eve with. We would drive around and look at the Christmas lights then go back to their house for hot chocolate, fresh coconut and honey cakes. What memories. I love the shadow box you made. Please enter me in your drawing.
Where I live they are promoting the recycling of old holiday lights. I wonder whether they are doing this everywhere.
