Is there anything better than French Lilacs? I think not.

I am thinking of the lilac-trees,

That shook their purple plumes,

And when the sash was open,

Shed fragrance through the room.

Most of our lilacs have just begun to bud, but the purple outside my office window is nearly in bloom.....

I had hoped to get up to the lilac festival in WA again this year, but this is the last weekend. I may not make it.

Hi Pam:
Oooohh the French Lilacs are marvelous. I grew up in a small country town (2,500 people) and there was a row of lilac trees along the side of one of my bedroom windows. I woke to their fragrance and fell asleep with their fragrance mingling with my Mom's rose bushes.
What a memory you gave me : )
peace
