It's The Simple Things in Life

Who knew an empty jar could bring a gal so much joy?

I spotted it on a dusty basement shelf at an estate sale today. It speaks to me for many reasons...Skippy was the snack spread of choice in my house when I was just a peanut myself.

The bottom of the jar is pretty great, too. See the A underneath the H? Hazel Atlas produced it.

The top is the best part. It's so friendly, and packed with information! I am especially partial to the white fence graphic and helpful arrow.  The copy compares the mixture to butter, but it's not actually called "peanut butter"....that must have come later.  I think I'm going to go fix myself a PB & J.

I'm on board. I try to pretty-fy my art room with aplocary jars but my little peanutbutter jar gets to stay!

I just like saying the word "Skippy". Sticks to the roof of my mouth...you know?
Wonder when it became peanut butter.

What a neat find! Yes it is hazel Atlas. Wish they still came that way!

Have to tell you I was at an estate sale yesterday and picked up a tiny Miracle Whip jar and thought of you!
Keep cool!

And I like it because my nephew's nickname is Skippy (his friends came up with it ... because he liked peanut butter so much).

That Skippy jar is so adorable.
It occurred to me that nowadays a company would not be brave enough to say their product is "guaranteed perfect".
