One Gal's Trash, Indeed!

There it was. On top of a pile of rubbish in the back of a Ford truck. I'd seen the truck, parked in the same spot for weeks, but hadn't checked the contents.  As I drove past on Sunday, I spied the X shape.   Before my brain even engaged, I turned around in the parking lot of a chiropractor's office and screeched to a halt behind the bed of the truck. In less than one minute, it was in the back of the Dodge. I didn't even register how heavy it was until I was safely back in the driver's seat cruising down Broadway.  You know how, every once in a while, a baby falls under a car and some bystander suddenly gains freakish adrenaline-fueled strength and lifts up the car, thereby freeing the baby?  It was like that.  Bye Bye went the rotting wood top.
Now look at it!

Unfortunately I'm such a wussy when it comes to grabbing stuff--my cousin always wants me to cruise around after dark to pick through curbside trash and so far it's a no go for me. Now here you are grabbing a heavy piece of metal off a truck! The table is fantastic!

Fantastic find! Good for you for seeing the potential in the piece-- too many people don't realize the value of a part when a junky looking whole is in front of them.

I did that adrenaline rush thing a couple months ago when I garbage picked a concrete donkey with a broken leg. Tossed him in my truck no problem but when I went to take him out once I got home I had to get the teenager out to assist. ;) Awesome table!
