Collecting Stuff in French!

Bonjour girls!  I've been posting photos that were taken during my recent junking trip to Paris. Now, you get to see the stuff that made it back to Home Sweet Home in Portland, Oregon. Our first installment includes paper and wood. They somehow seemed connected...Maybe because paper comes from wood? Anyway, I'm going to rein myself in from going off on that particular tangent.  Here's the stash....

A stack of vintage Michelin maps of France. They're slightly battered from living in the glove box of a Citroen, but gorgeous nonetheless.

Two 1940's era letters written in cursive with a pen. More to the point: Written in French cursive with a French pen.

The salutation on this one is "My Captain" and contains battle plans. Not kidding.

A rather run of the mill wood box...

Mais Non!  A French Lotto game!

A pile of illustrated children's books about a little boy with the unfortunate name of "Wee Wee".  The series covers various topics, including Wee Wee's first day of school and an adventure with a magic eraser.

This vintage game board was one of my favorite finds.  I have no idea what it's for, but I'm calling it art and hanging it on the wall.  The other side....

What do you want to see next?  Metal junk or breakable junk?

Lovely stuff! I'd love to read those French letters. Wasn't the penmanship so pretty?

The reverse of that board game reminds me of Trouble.

I'm so thrilled because I'm going to Paris in August. I'm sure to hit a flea market or two!

Breakable!!! Did you bring home some little blue dishes, for some reason I was thinking you did. They made my heart swoon.

I know that game! And, I know how it's played.. It's called Mensch Argere Dich Nicht. But, I've never seen a wooden playing board. Nice!
