Models. But Not The Victoria's Secret Kind.
My friend Astrid, a.k.a. Vintage Betti, discovered these food beauty shots at a sale years ago. Just look at them! All of the food groups are represented: Fatty meats, canned fruits and creamed vegetables....
Yummy! And each delectable item is served on a Fiesta dish.
They're even called "Food Models"...designed to assist you in planning delicious and nutritious meals.
I created my own fantasy meal...A pork chop, prunes, buttered cabbage and biscuits with butter. And for dessert? Apple pie with a chunk of American Cheese. Because, as a very wise woman once said: "Apple pie without some cheese is like a kiss without a squeeze!"

I love this - like paint by the numbers menu planning! And if you are inviting guests, that meal looks pretty delish to me, especially the butter cabbage and apple pie with cheese - YUM! I would love to have a set of these sitting out on the kitchen counter for inspiration.
Interesting. Your fantasy meal includes prunes? And cabbage? You might want to eat that meal alone... just sayin.'
Now this is the kind of modeling I would be good at!!! These are a lot of fun. Enjoy.
yum indeed and oh so perfect for a January post when our minds are focused on eating "healthy."
Hmm! No buttons, no batteries and you still had fun? Don't tell the kids. These are fantastic...enjoy them...smiles..Renee
Yumm indeed! I'm inspired to fix biscuits for supper tonight.
I must say I would not choose that as my fantasy meal..........but I would love to "play with the food".

I used these very same pictures in my Home Economics class back in the 1970s...it was fun to see them again!
I think I still have those stored in the attic. First I kept them in my teacher stash. Later I kept them because of the Fiesta dishes. What a trip down memory lane.
Those are super cool! I found a vintage magazine spread with a similar meal planning photo layout. These could be used to make some cool kitchen magnets!
