My New Favorite Thing

Look what arrived on the porch the other day...
A fabulous huge metal expandable stand thing-a-ma-jig!

My friend Laurie posted about finding one here. I pestered her with questions like..."Can I buy it?" "Can I trade you something for it?" "Can I do your laundry for the next 12 months in exchange for that object?" She said no.

But lucky for me, one of Laurie's readers had one in her attic. One thing led to another, emails were exchanged and a few days later...It's mine all mine. (Thanks, Elizabeth!)

And look at those metal prongs! I'll keep it handy for the next time I need a weapon.

P.S. The plates are antique Limoges china that I found at a high school rummage...$2 for 4 of them. But that's a story for another day.

Your thing-a-ma-gig is a flower spray rack. It was used in funeral homes to hang flower arrangements. I haven't seen one of these in a very long time.

Who ever knew there would two of these around and you and Laurie would get them?? I am happy for you and want to see what you do with it.

Sounds like Sandi solved the mystery of the thing-a-ma-jig. Very interesting ... what are you going to do with it? I have loads of laundry here as well. Maybe we can work out a trade! :-0

Did you ever miss the last metro in Paris? That looks like the grate at the entrance of the stations.
