Last Friday was a good day for junking. I kept my two favorite finds for a separate post so we could extend the junk bliss for a bit longer. I saw this jar at The Salvation Army, where I hardly ever find anything at all. The vintage corn cobs first caught my eye...
Then I saw the price...
Once I had it in my grubby little hands, I could see that there was Butterscotch BAKELITE in that 99 cent jar!
OOOooo lucky me! I want to figure out a way to make them into a bracelet. Any suggestions?
At an estate sale, I was thrilled to find this box of pure joy. I am in love with vintage party supplies...wrapping paper, ribbon, decorations....So finding this box of a variety of nut cups in a rainbow of colors just about put me over the edge.
Could it get any better? Well, yes. The nut cups belonged to a gal named Emma. My 16 year old daughter is named Emma too...what are the chances?

Both are amazing finds! Bakelite corn cob holders and nut cups! Wow!
And you have more? Can't wait!!
Wow - great treasures! Those little cups are such pretty colors.
Those nut cups are adorable! I think I love the little card more! Once I bought a vintage bag that had luggage tag with all the info on it on it. I called the numbers and asked for the lady who once owned it. An elderly gentleman said he'd go get her for me....I panicked and hung up the phone! What was I going to say, I have the basket purse you took on a cruise to Mexico in '66? LOL! I do feel bad about making her tottle to the phone though. Great finds, love the blog!
OOOOOooooohhhh! Lucky gal! Bakelite for a steel! Cool! Vintage party supplies, I'm so in love with those!
Wonderful finds! You have amazing thrifting karma!
Eeeeek! You little toot! You have such a good eye for all of the "stuff" that we drool over!

Bakelite AND plastic party favors? You were one lucky junker!
Lucky gal Dot, lucky gal!
WOW! What neat finds. I can't decide which I like best. Sorry can't help on the bracelet.
What a great find! It doesn't get any better than that.
I am in major need of a GOOD junking trip! Can't wait to see what else you got. If I can't shop, I can live vicariously through you!

PS Love the name Emma. It was on my list if I had a girl. Ah, testosterone won out!
i do love your stuff girl, it's adorable, for the pins, well why don't you put beads around the metal part and then...I don't knwo I'd have to play with LOL
'sides I don't think you need suggestions from anyone, but thanks for asking lOL
Great scores! You could drill very fine holes or adhere some small pendant bails to them using
E600 glue. It's not permanent but makes a very strong bond. I think I would drill them though. It's just bakelite, which was mass produced. You will certainly get a lot of enjoyment out of the bracelet. xo, suzy
I love all the pretty nut cups! It reminds me of when I was little...and the party favors were little cupcake holders filled with nuts & m&ms. So simple...and I always loved them! Makes me crazy to think of all the goodie bags I have obsessed over for my kid's birthdays:) I just adore the ones you found...and I even love the little jar that the bakelite was in:) Happy Junking!!
Take Care,
Kristin
Hi I'm enjoying your blog and happy birthday!

Emma must have been in charge of all the special occasions for the bowling league. I love it all!

I love when you can stumble upon something very unique and old at a national thrift store and they still miss it. Those bakelite corn cob holders are a fabulous find. And those nut baskets? I've never seen anything like them.
