My favorite postcard

At a recent sale, on a Sunday ~ i.e. half price day ~ I spied a Nike shoe box full of vintage postcards. The price tag attached to the box read: $1.00 each. With the box in my hand, I turned to the guy running the sale and before I could even ask, he said, "5 bucks for the box". Oh Joy! There are old postcards from all kinds of delightful places, but when I came across this one, my heart jumped a little. It is just magnifique...lights on the Eiffel Tower, the old cars, the colors of the sky at dusk and the whisp of smoke rising...perhaps from a passing train? Love it!

This is my favorite postcard too. I have one like it stuck in a picture of the Eiffel in my living room.

Hello!
Just dropped by for a visit from Noteworthy Musings ... my first visit to your blog. Took notes about Fun Junk in Olympia .... sounds like a "gotta go" spot for me. We live in PDX, too, and out youngest is in college in SEA. On way to visit her I need to have field trip stops, and as my favorite vintage clothing shop in OLY closed, looks like I might have a new FAV!! Thanks for the info and let me know of any good "trashy" shops in PDX. Somehow I got away from trash-lovin', but am back!
Have a super day and hugs!
Betty :)

It drives me CRAZY when I hear about these great finds. I don't know whether Quebeckers didn't collect postcards as much or whether I'mnot looking in the right places but I've never come across a great find like this.
By the way, if you happen to have any with SIGNS on them, I hope you'll take part in the July issue of A Festival of Postcards.
Either way - happy vintage postcarding!
