Mare z dotes

I always thought the song went:
"Mare z dotes and doze e dotes and little lamsy divey"
Somewhere around my 40th birthday, I discovered it was actually:
"Mares eat oats and does eat oats and little lambs eat ivy"

Who knew?

Today we went to a used book sale and there was a bake sale too...

This was my favorite baked good. A little lamsy divey.

That cake is adorable...love the lyric mix up. When Kate was little she used to sing YMCA by village people. When the lyrics go "young man" she used to say "yumba"...I still hear it in my head that way. Looking forward to oats tomorrow with you!

LOL @ the lyric mix-up. I'm not sure I even know what song that is though! That lamsy divey is quite cute! I shouldn't be reading about bake sales at 2:00 am though. Now I'm wanting a brownie!

I also thought the lyrics were mairzey dotes and dozey dotes and little lamzey divey... until I was pretty old. And I thought magenta was pronounced magnetta until I went to art school. And the name Phoebe was Fo-ebb. -Interpanetary Janet
