The Green Cart from Heaven

This cart was in the kitchen at a recent sale. I shoved aside two grannies and a toddler to get my grimy hands on it. Isn't it spectacular? The 3 drawers have wire mesh on the bottom. And the COLOR! Please. I am thinking of using it my studio to hold my collection of vintage wrapping paper. What was it originally used for? Any guesses? Whoever sends my favorite answer will get a prize. I'm not sure the prize is...but I will advise on my next post. Must run, my husband and I are going to the movies. He chose The Reader; I wonder if it's because Kate Winslet is naked for most of the film. Hhhmmm.....

I think there would have been a junk shove around if any of us were there. Its a sweet piece and my guess would have been some sort of dryer as well. Ahhh they just don't make things like they used too and you can't by that good old aged chippy rusty look either. I so want it!

You hit the jackpot with that! I am thinking it could have been used in a hospital lab for storing and drying bottles or test tubie thingies! Great blog, really enjoy reading and forgive my drooling!

I'd say this was the precessor for the red IGLOO coolers surgeons now use for transporting organs. Livers - top drawer, Kidneys - middle drawer, Hearts - bottom drawer.

Well, I just wanted to be creative - hope you aren't too grossed out to use it. If you are - I will take it - it is fantastic!!!!!!!

Hey Pammy - - Ya know... when I lived on the farm growing up, I do believe I remember this... it's for moving several baby chicks at a time - that is if my memory is correct - it is a faint memory! But that's my thoughts!!

Hi, what an inspiration your blog is. I love the statue you found and have in your yard. I'm thinking that this cart maybe was used in a hair saloon for all their scissors and other tools. Or maybe at a hospital for tools there as well. But i think it can be used to store almost anything. Maybe some flowerpots?
