One Gal's Trash, Indeed

This was the scene this morning in my daughter's room. She is 15. Any questions?

Small Town Holiday

Okay, so I'm a week (or so) late and a couple of dollars short, but I love these photos of our 4th of July adventure to Corbett, Oregon. 22 miles and a WORLD away from Portland. Glad I didn't wear my hot pink "IMPEACH" t-shirt or I would certainly have been run down more than once by men with huge, loud trucks and missing teeth.

The most delicious hot dog EVER
My favorite thing about the whole day. Finger puppets made in South America. We saw a purple octopus with a bowler hat, a pig with a pink bow tie, a blue walrus, a llama and other assorted creatures. Could hardly pull myself away to watch the pie eating contest.

5 Frogs and a Bird

At a recent sale I discovered several vintage flower vase frogs on the porch in a plastic tub. Love how architectural they look, especially the metal one shaped like a big flower. The bird lives in a potted plant. You pour water in his beak which is held in the cone shaped bottom until the plant requires more moisture. He is adorable and smart!

July in a bowl

We have a new rule in our house: anytime summer berries are to be served, they are to be served in a Fire King Jadite bowl. Look how divine! I'll show you my collection of green glass in a future post. It's almost as good as Martha's.
